You must’ve been hiding in the woods if you live in Leeds and haven’t heard of Out of the Woods! I’m lucky enough that both of my jobs since I’ve been here are less than 5 minutes drive from their cafe on Water Lane so I’m a frequent visitor down there on a Friday when I treat myself to one of their delicious sandwiches, some Fancie cupcakes to impress visitors to work, or to pick up some Sesame sushi.
Fortunately for those working and living closer to the city, they’ve just opened up a lovely new cafe at Granary Wharf, plus they’ve got a lovely Christmas shop just around the corner with perfect presents to indulge your friends and family. I particularly like the jars of biscuit mixture which come with a wooden spoon – just pour in a bowl, add eggs/butter, then cut out shapes and bake. Lovely! They’ve also got beautiful hand made chocolates embossed with gold, pink and purple patterns and hampers for all types of budgets.
I was lucky enough to go the opening where there was, as expected some delicious canapes plus some amazing goat’s cheese and of course, the specially commissioned Fancie cupcakes. There was also plenty of mulled wine and mulled cider to wash it all down with *hic* whilst I chatted with Rach from Rach and new friend Julia!
If you fancy a decent sandwich (quite honestly there is never an excuse for Greggs) then get yourself visit their nice website Out of the Woods, follow them on Twitter to find out what’s on the menu today and of course, go down their in person!
