Don’t you love it when you find something so tasty, and you want to share it with the world?! I have honestly been meaning to write about Lovepickle since discovering it late last year, and now I’m finally getting my life into some semblance of order, I’m getting back in the blogging saddle and writing about it!
We discovered Lovepickle in Keelham Farm Shop in Bradford on the deli counter. We are suckers for well designed packaging (oh the perils of living with a design freak!) and we tried a little on a cracker. WOW! A serious burst of heat followed by the sourness of the pickle. I guess I’d expected more of a chutney style pickle, that you’d have with poppadoms. But Lovepickle is different.
I don’t know why I find it so addictive, perhaps it’s the combination of spices, pickle and heat but as soon as tasted it I wanted it on EVERYTHING. It does go nicely on poppadoms SURE, but it’s also a great kicker to a ham and salad pitta, or stirred into baked beans. It’s adaptable, and it’s like crack so you’ll be planning what to add it to next. The warmth of the spices as well as the chilli really shines through and if you love Indian food, this is a real treat for your tastebuds.
There’s four spice levels to choose from, and they all have their place. I cut my teeth on the medium spice but now we’ve used all that up I’m now on extra hot. See that cracker above? I ate that after photographing it. Tears rolled down my cheeks and fire bellowed from my nostrils. Then I went back for more!
Disclaimer: I was not asked to write about this or given this product to try. I bought it myself and it was delicious!
