To get me in the Christmas mood (doesn’t take much!), John Lewis sent me a selection of their lovely Christmas foods! In my specially created “hamper” I received a mix of traditional Christmas foods – dried fruits, chocolates, some mince pies (topped with almonds for a modern twist!) and also a selection of lovely sweets:
- Bakewell tart bon-bons (you need these in your life, yum)
- Decorate your own gingerbread men (fun for kids and adults alike!)
- Funky marshmallows – could possibly slice them and serve them in the toffee fudge hot choc they sent too
- A cute penguin iced biscuit (total sucker for these, mummy LTT often sends me them in the post!)
Also got some lovely savoury bits and pieces – bread dipping sauces perfect for Christmas parties and hosting, and some amazing flavoured oils. Honestly I don’t know why I’ve never bought flavoured oils before but they are fabulous on salads, pasta and even in the asian dishes I cook. So versatile!
For morning goodies there was also some very pretty (smelling and looking) luxury fruit tea with pink rosebuds in, and loose leaf tea which for me is so very traditional at Christmas for breakfast with my parents.
John Lewis have really got an incredible range of Christmas food, wine and champagne, so you’ll be able to find something for all your foodie friends (or something to encourage them to be foodie). Failing that a bottle of bubbles will always do the trick! If you’re looking for a gorgeously put together gift, also take a look at their hamper selection is gorgeous, and there’s a wide choice of types of hampers so you can have one full of sweeties, tipple or fresh goods. My particular fave is this Salmon and Chablis one which I haven’t seen similar anywhere before.
Disclaimer: I was sent a selection of goods to taste and review but was not given payment for my review which is, as always, independent.
