I’m very much of the opinion that if you feel under pressure to write a blog post then you shouldn’t do it – for me it will always just be a hobby and not an obligation. I’ve been so crazy busy with my freelancing work that I haven’t had it in me to give this post the attention to write something good. I hope that you’re all enjoying the summer so far – hasn’t it been good (present rainy weather excluded)! I have done very little in the way of baking; instead sitting round in pants and t-shirt fanning myself with a magazine and coding stuff. I did however spend last weekend at my parents’ house, preparing a hundred scones and some cheesecake brownies for my mum’s friend’s surprise retirement garden party. It was a lovely event and my whole family pitched in with the cooking, setting up of tables and serving of Pimm’s to ensure that everyone had a good time.
I’ve also got quite active of late – I am regularly achieving 4 mile runs which I never thought would be a possibility. It’s certainly helped my weight go down steadily. I’ve been eating healthily too – and when Chobani asked if I wanted to try their 0% fat strained yoghurts, well I couldn’t say no.
If you’ve tried any of these “fat-free” yoghurts, they’re usually kind of runny and thickened using xanthan gum. You won’t find any of that in here – only good natural ingredients and cultures. They also do a pretty amazing range of flavours – I was sent a selection, though I only got to try a couple as Mr LTT ate most of them as he liked them so much! My particular favourite was the apple and cinnamon; you never see apple yoghurts about so I was really glad it was in my little delivery.
The best bit about them is that because they are strained, they are thicker than your average fat-free yoghurt but they don’t feel like you’re on a diet (they’re also only 140 calories per pot!). They’re creamy and filling, totally delicious! According to their website, they also have twice the amount of protein, are gluten free and have <5% lactose so good for dairy allergy sufferers.
Disclosure: Chobani sent me the products for free to try but I was under no obligation to write a post, or even write positively about the products. In fact, it’s been quite a while since they sent me the product and I just hadn’t got around to writing it up.
