About the website

Lay the table runs on WordPress, with a custom theme I designed myself plus various plugins. I manage all my emails through Mailchimp using custom template designs. The blog posts email is automated, the monthly one is manually created.

All images are taken by me, Becs Rivett, or by Chris Kemm, unless otherwise stated within the post.

I use a Canon 400D or 500D with a 50mm or an 18-55mm lens. Sometimes I use a studio lighting kit as my flat doesn’t have an awful lot of natural sunlight. I never use the flash. I’m starting to use tethered shooting (where the camera’s hooked up to the PC) so that I can see my shots instantly in a large size and can make better decisions about lighting and depth of field.
